The EnteroTach® 2D system is a complete system to allow the
recording and positional mapping of the origin of gastrointestinal sounds.
EnteroTach® 2D maps up to 1,000 sounds per session in real time. The sound recordings can
be stored to hard disk and analyzed in depth. The distribution of sounds is mapped. Power
spectrum and time series of each individual sound is determined for further study. Kinetic
metrics can be determined for user selectable regions of the abdomen. Data from study
groups can be combined to get average group distributions of sounds.The flexibility of the
software also allows for interactive data mining, making it particularly useful to the

The EnteroTach® MD system allows for the economical analysis
of gastrointestinal sounds. The system is portable and convenient. EnteroTach® MD returns
the basic kinetic measurements to characterize the gastrointestinal sounds and a sound
quality metric. This system is particularly of interest to researchers wanting to include
these quantitative measurements for a large number of subjects at numerous sites (e.g.
drug studies carried out in the community).
