	SoretScan™ Technology Patent is Issued.
	Tucson, Az - June 1, 20011 - Western Research Company, Inc. (Tucson, Az) announces that a patent has issued for technology employed in the SoretScan™ diagnostic test developed by the company. The SoretScan™ technology is the basis of a new noninvasive stool test that can determine the source of blood in the stool. Currently, the discovery of blood in the stool usually leads to a rather expensive evaluation that usually includes a colonoscopy. However, the majority of those procedures are not needed since bleeding usually occurs from an upper GI bleeding site. The goal of the SoretScan™ test is to quickly and economically identify those patients that do not require a colonoscopy examination.
